Children's Play, Paul McArdle

The article that I chose to read and summarize about is called Children's Play by Paul McArdle and in his piece and stresses the important of play in a child's life is beneficial in many ways. In the article he fully explains the favorable benefits of play in a child's developing everyday life. He states that, "Play is a major tool for emotional regulation". Meaning that play helps with how a child chooses to interact with other individuals and assists in their learning. The author also mentions the play of boys tends to be more exploratory and that the play of females are more symbolic. He compares and contrasts the differences in gender play and how the opposite sex can help the other. I believe this article was informative because it had many different aspects and point of views and the author wasn't bias. He had legit facts and statistics to support his views.
