De Falco, S., Esposito, G., Venuti, P., & Bornstein, M. (2008). Fathers' play with their Down Syndrome children. Journal of Intellectual Disability Research, 52(6), 490-502.
The article goes over the impact father's and father figures have on children with down syndrome. The article begins by detailing studies which support the idea that the interaction these kids have with their parents can drastically affect their growth. It also details how the conclusion was made by describing the procedure gone through to reach the idea and all the effects they added to the experiment before summarising the final result

I didnt see a lot of articles that talked about children with down syndrome, so your blogpost was really fascinating and different from many others! I do not have much experience working with down syndrome children, so I learned a lot through reading this. I was interested to learn that interaction with parents specifically are an important role in their growth/development. This article makes me want to learn more about children with down syndrome and what they need to further learn, develop, and improve their skills despite their learning disabilities.
ReplyDeleteI really liked your post. I liked that it was about fathers and their childs with down syndrome. I don't really know a lot about down syndrome so reading this article was cool. This makes me want to learn more. I thought that the dads helping their kids was a really interesting thing.
ReplyDeleteI liked how you choose an article that you really don't see about children with down syndrome. It was very interesting knowing how fathers help their children with the needs they need.
