The importance of play is to help children develop developmental milestones. Children that are introduced to child-led, open-ended play helps them develop physical,social/emotional and cognitive perspectives which is very important in their life. The multi-use of toys help develop developmental stages such as creativity and problem solving. Having children explore the outdoor world is a good experience for them to ask questions, explore and open their minds. As children develop milestones through help of family activities it promotes a positive and healthy interaction that'll help the child in the real world.

  1. i believe children should be exposed to this type of things because play is very important just like you stated. children should be able to show their skills out while they're having fun to show us that they can experience and learn new things from this. We also learn from this as well.

  2. I find it very interesting that a child's play outdoors roots to their explorative skills. They have many essentials during this point of their life and they need to succeed all of them to prepare for their adult life. Also, I love that your article elaborates the development of a child's perspectives. I would have never known that so much of it derives from outdoor play.

  3. I agree with the article and think it's really important for children to experience the outside world, as well as communicate with other children to gain intelligence and gain basic social skills. The child will have a much easier time with their milestones and have a much positive experience.

  4. I agree that experiencing outdoor activities is very important and fundamental in the development of a child. When I was little I spent most of my time out doors with my brothers and it left me with the ability to learn from the world around me. When a child only spends time inside they are revoking their opportunity of being able to learn about things on their own and get a sense of independence and can in turn become dependent. Children of this day in age are at risk of this, choosing cellphones over the enjoyment of a nature and not going through the process of development that outdoor time plays

  5. I agree that children should be engaging and interacting with the world in order to develop mentally, physically and socially. It is important to let children have the opportunity to explore what life has to offer.
